Creative Writing

These writing samples showcase my creative writing skills in poetry, drama, and short fiction storytelling. The poems share my opinions, beliefs, and life experiences, whereas my drama piece and short fiction story are based on those in my life but include fictionalized elements.

The “Creative Writing Portfolio” document showcases my skills and abilities writing different types of creative pieces, includes an “artist’s statement” about who I am as a writer, and includes four poems, a drama piece (script), a short story, and a writing scenario about “yearning.”

The “Sci-Fi Book Analysis” document highlights my ability to analyze famous science fiction writers and their most popular science fiction novels. I cover a few of my favorite sci-fi novels and authors, which include H.G. Wells, “The War of the Worlds;” Ray Bradbury, “Fahrenheit 451;” Geroge Orwell, “1984;” and Phillip K. Dick, “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.”

An open hardcover notebook with cream, slightly textured pages filled with flowing, neatly spaced creative writing in dark ink, positioned on a warm walnut table. Beside it, a closed notebook with a soft fabric cover in muted teal leans against a small stack of classic novels, their spines in subdued earth tones with elegant typography. A ceramic mug of tea, pale gray with a matte finish, sits just out of focus in the background. Late afternoon golden light pours in from the right, creating long, gentle shadows and a soft glow on the inked lines. Photographic realism, captured from a slightly overhead angle with shallow depth of field, conveys a reflective, imaginative mood, highlighting the creative writing side of the portfolio.
