About Me

My name is Hannah Wenrich, I’m a 5th year senior (on track to graduate in May 2026) majoring in Science Writing and minoring in Writing Studies, with a focus in Biology, Earth Science, and Emergency Management. I’ve had many interests since I was young that have only developed further throughout my college experience, which includes medicine, science, writing, history, and more recently emergency management.

Science Writing is a huge field, with a focus in many core sciences and involves a lot of scholarly research skills and technical writing skills. From my time in college, I have gained a lot of experience in those skill areas, as well as experience with various forms and genres of creative and informal writing. This is why I chose my major as it brings together my main interests of science, technical writing, and creative writing.

I am a Pennsylvania Certified EMT, and I love that I can directly help people in that way and would love to eventually further my EMS career as a part-time Paramedic sometime in the future. However, I also believe that with my degree in Science Writing and my hopes of eventually writing for a science and/or medical journal (potentially focused on the Oncology field) that I can help people more indirectly with my research and writing. My creative writing is often personal to me, whether it’s about my personal experiences, my faith, or my interests; and I hope one day I can reach the right audience and impact them with my poetry or short fiction stories.

I have a lot of compassion and empathy for everyone that I meet, and integrity as I always try to be fair and nonjudgemental, especially given my future writing career where it’s important to be unbiased and honest. I am very determined and persistent with anything I do and I try to give my all at something and if that’s not enough, then I know it’s not meant to be. That’s my outlook on any opportunities that occur in my life, where I rely on my faith, experiences, skills, and knowledge to get through both positive and negative times. I have high hopes that I will grow in the future with my writing career and learn to further improve my professional writing skills.
